A picture is worth
A thousand words,
They say that often, independant of occasion,
And at times bring mirth
Like an angel’s verse,
To have your photo taken with beautiful women.

In this link here,
Photos taken meant to evoke admirations,
A night’s reveries
Can be found there,
Oh, May will be full of festive celebrations.
How odd of us to place a value,
Upon a figure framed by a note,
To not possess it simply won’t do -
We needed it just like a lifeboat.
As much as I disdain this worship,
Refrain I could not from not wanting,
To own these papers prone to courtship,
By those who prey on greedy yearning.
And yet our lives revolve around it,
This system made by capitalist,
It fuels our city’s silver heartbeat,
With all the merchants which it consist.
With my account today replenished,
It filled the nooks of my heart with glee,
But once all those papers diminished,
Only the month’s end would uplift me.
What a vicious circle.

Awaiting entries
From scribblings
Hurried fingers
Racing against minutes
Meeting in five
Grinding teeth
A smiling face
It hides behind
Computer screen
Taunting at tired eyes
With empty coffee mug
Sultans
Held hostage -
A smiling paymaster
