019Not So Bad
posted by Daniel on April 24th, 2008
I got an email from a friend today
And thought that this is worth sharing,
Here I shall re-tell it in my own way
When there’s a tale worth telling…
*************
“As I jumped off the roof…”
“I went past the tenth floor of the building,
And saw the couple known for their loving,
But tonight, they were arguing,
Clenched, spiteful fists were flying.”
“I went past the ninth floor of the building
There was Peter, the indomitable,
But tonight, he was crying
And looking miserable.”
“I went past the eight floor of the building
Mei was speechless, looking shocked in arrest;
She found her best friend sleeping
With Miss Mei’s fiancee, undressed.”
“I went past the seventh floor of the building
Miss Tan was standing by her cabinet,
I didn’t know she was taking
Prescribed Prozac and Parnate.”
“I went past the sixth floor of the building,
Jobless Heng was looking down with dismay;
He still looks for job by buying
seven newspapers a day.”
“I went past the fifth floor of the building,
Mr. Wong was there, the kind gentlemen,
But I think I saw him putting
On his wife’s undergarment.”
“I went past the fourth floor of the building,
And saw Rose with her boyfriend by the vase;
Both were screaming and yelling
At each other’s youthful face.”
“I went past the third floor of the building,
Where the Old man lives, whose vision was dim,
He also still does hoping
For someone to visit him.”
“I went past the second floor of the building,
Saw Lily staring at her husband’s photo;
Her aching heart still does mourning
For her husband’s death not long ago.”
“Before I leapt off to my death,
My luckless life I did bemoan,
But now I’ve learned that others have
Problems and worries of their own.”
“After I had seen all of these,
My life wasn’t so bad at all.
And when those people saw my corpse,
They might feel that…”
“… their life aren’t so bad after all…”
