Once upon a time,
in the island of Borneo,
An ancient site lies at hill’s shoulder and plateau,
Her settlers were blessed,
With earth’s plentiful harvest,
And the leadership of the wisest of wisest.

Kulow was his name,
A headman of great renown,
Whose wisdom and kindness was oft-sought and well-known,
And through his guidance,
His people grew prosperous,
At hill’s shoulder and plateau of envied riches.

But in jealous eyes,
Of those whom were found wanting,
They plotted, they waited, their prey unsuspecting,
To steal all their wealth,
and leave not a single thing;
From Kulow and his people, they planned on robbing…

This is the story,
Of a prosperous village,
As re-told by elders of the same heritage,
Of the great Kulow,
And how he lead his people,
Through times of merriment, hardship and renewal.
